Exploring the SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent the global strategy plan for economic, social and environmental development. Launched in 2015, they explain the UN member states’ shared global vision of the broader development objectives of society, and are universal goals aiming at ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all. Achieving the SDGs will be a key driver of economic growth going forward, which ultimately is the only structural source of long-term financial returns. In this video, we explore what the SDGs are and how they can offer attractive opportunities for investors.
Key points include:
- Turning sustainability challenges into solutions is a powerful driver for innovation and long-term business opportunities.
- The SDGs will serve as a capital allocation guide and we expect a redirection of capital flows towards companies that offer solutions helping to solve pressing sustainability issues.
- In order to systematically identify interesting opportunities, we created a proprietary SDG engine, which allows for targeted screening of SDG investment opportunities.
